Burial Containers, Caskets & Urns

Should you consider building a casket yourself? At Guided Home Funerals LLC we want to encourage families to literally "think outside the box" when it comes to considering the purchase of a casket and/or urn. You may choose to build your own casket,  purchase a biodegradable one or use a special container for the urn or material for the shroud that has special meaning to you and your family. We want to empower families to make the choices that fit your lifestyle and reflect the beliefs of you and your loved one.

Building your own casket can be a rewarding experience. The time you spend crafting a casket for a loved one can be a memorable and therapeutic experience for yourself and family members.

Montana law requires the body to be contained in a leak-or spill-proof container for transporting the deceased:

If cremation is the choice, Montana laws states the body needs to be in a bio-degradable container that is easily manageable for handling. The law states a 24 hour waiting period and all pacemakers and other medical devices removed from the body before cremation is done in a licensed crematorium.

there are many ways to lighten the funeral footprint.
